A 25-year-old trainee policewoman was knocked down by a motorcycle on Saturday evening July 9 in Amilly, near Montargis (Loiret), during a traffic check, reports France Bleu Orléans on Sunday. The policewoman was hospitalized in Montargis and suffered from a double tibia fracture as well as a broken nose. According to the police, the driver of the two-wheeler deliberately accelerated towards the policewoman and drove towards her when she asked him to stop.
The public prosecutor of Montargis, Loïc Abrial, specifies that the driver of the motorcycle “refused to submit to checks and continued on his way” around 11:15 p.m., then according to the first elements, “he would have carried out a maneuver with his scooter causing him to come back in the direction of the police” and hit the policewoman.
The driver of the motorcycle who refused to submit to the traffic check has been identified by the police and is still being sought. He is a young man of 18 from the agglomeration of Montargis. The young man fled, knocking his passenger down in the process. He then cut across fields to shake off the police, before abandoning his motorcycle at the edge of an embankment. An investigation for attempted murder has been opened.
