In adults, only life-threatening emergencies – such as road accidents, heart problems – are covered unconditionally. The Amiens hospital announced it in a press release on Friday evening September 2, referring to “difficulties in terms of human resources”. “There is a shortage of 25 to 30% of emergency physicians at the Amiens University Hospital, _we have lost fifteen doctors in a year and a half_“explains to France Bleu Picardie the head of the service, Doctor Christophe Boyer.
“Pathologies can be treated by a general practitioner”
So in this context, filtering the arrivals of patients in the emergency room is essential. : “We see that the emergency rooms are open, which means that we have a permanent increase in the number of patientsexplains Dr. Boyer. There is now a need for these patients to be redirected. There are a number of pathologies that can be treated by a general practitioner or be taken care of slightly later“.

A meeting on this filtering takes place this Tuesday, September 6 between the CHU of Amiens and the director general of the Regional Health Agency.
