The city’s public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation for an organized murder, entrusted to the Nice judicial police.

A 24-year-old man was shot dead on Christmas night in a sensitive area of Nice, AFP learned on Saturday, December 25 from the city’s public prosecutor’s office. The facts occurred shortly after midnight in the district of Las Planas, located in the north of the city, he said, confirming information from BFM Nice-Côte d’Azur. The victim was not known to the justice services, said the prosecution, which opened an investigation for murder in an organized gang, entrusted to the judicial police of Nice.
The man suspected of having killed the young man fled with accomplices in a vehicle later found a few kilometers from the city, in Cagnes-sur-Mer. They are currently wanted. A woman, a member of the victim’s family, who arrived at the scene shortly after, was taken to hospital in shock.
At this stage, justice does not favor any track, the investigation has only just begun and all the witnesses have not yet been heard.
