While Max Verstappen still dominates the 2023 general classification, the calendar for next season has been revealed. The FIA presented, on Wednesday July 5, the program which awaits the drivers in 2024. It will begin at the beginning of March with two night races, contested on Saturday, in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and will end at the beginning of December in Abu Dhabi.

A time threatened due to the emergence of new, more lucrative destinations, the Belgian Grand Prix, on the mythical Spa-Francorchamps track, is well and truly maintained, bringing the total of Grand Prix to 24, a historic record (two races having been canceled this year, those of China and Emilia-Romagna in Italy).

The first two Grands Prix, in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, will be contested on Saturday, an extremely rare schedule in Formula 1, just like that of Las Vegas at the end of the year. The organizers of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah (March 9) had expressed the wish to see the race take place before Ramadan, which should begin on Monday March 11.

China back, France still deprived of Grand Prix

Canceled for the past four years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Chinese Grand Prix is back on the calendar for the 2024 season. France, not on the program this year after four editions at Le Castellet (2018-2022), will always be deprived of racing, while Monaco will organize the 70th Grand Prix in its history, at the end of May.
