23 additional deaths linked to COVID-19 in Quebec

Quebec reports Tuesday 23 new deaths attributed to COVID-19 and an increase in hospitalizations.

In all, 6,659 health care workers are currently absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

There were 1,663 COVID-19-related hospitalizations, an increase of 54 from the previous day. There were 38 people in intensive care, a decrease of six.

The Ministry of Health also reports 2,076 new cases. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.

Since the start of the pandemic, 1,114,660 infections have been reported, and 15,697 of them have been fatal.

A total of 247,533 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the platform put online by the government, including 205,701 positive. For the day on Monday, 679 tests were declared, of which 590 were positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 8904 analyzes were carried out on Monday, with a positivity rate of 16.3%.

Among those 5 years and older, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 55% received a third dose and 16% obtained a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 46% have gone for a fourth dose so far.
