The requisitions fell on the evening of Tuesday October 17, before the Paris Assize Court. 22 years in prison were requested against Rédoine Faïd. On July 1, 2018, a helicopter landed in Réau prison, in Seine-et-Marne. A commando then cuts the doors leading to the visiting room with a grinder, and frees Rédoine Faïd. The escape was filmed by the inmates. The pilot, taken hostage, was released about ten kilometers away.
An important safety feature
Rédoine Faïd was found and arrested three months later. Since the start of the trial several weeks ago, an important security system has been put in place: dogs specialized in explosives, high surveillance and careful searches at the entrance. His co-defendants face 10 to 30 years in prison. The verdict is expected Wednesday October 25.
