A 22-year-old man died in Hautacam in the Hautes-Pyrénées after an accident while descending a ski slope in a kayak.
The Hautacam ski resort in the Hautes-Pyrénées has been closed since the beginning of the week. However, two friends from the town of Vier-Bordes went there to slide on the snow with a kayak. A common practice lately, according to the Hautes-Pyrénées firefighters.
The alert is given at 11.35 a.m. this Saturday, March 12, 2022. One of the two friends calls the firefighters and announces that his friend has had a violent accident. The man hit a ski lift pole at high speed. When the rescue services of the PGHM (high mountain gendarmerie platoons) arrived there, it was already too late. The victim’s body was transported by helicopter.
