2027 Women’s World Cup | Joint application of the United States and Mexico

(Columbus) The United States and Mexico announced Friday their joint bid to host the Women’s Soccer World Cup in 2027.


Their file should be in competition with Brazil and with three associated European countries, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

“The United States and Mexico are in a unique position to host a World Cup that will utilize the facilities, infrastructure and protocols put in place for the men’s World Cup the previous year,” said the president of the American Federation (US Soccer), Cindy Parlow Cone, in a press release.

The United States and Mexico have already been designated, along with Canada, to host the next men’s World Cup, in 2026. The United States will also be the host nation for the Copa America next year and then the World Cup. club world in 2025.

The last Women’s World Cup, last summer, was co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

The United States has organized it twice, in 1999 and 2003. The last edition contested in North America dates back to 2015, in Canada.
