(Toronto) The Toronto Blue Jays are set to begin their season with a 10-game road streak in 2024 for the second straight year as renovations to the Rogers Center continue.
The team unveiled its 2024 schedule on Thursday. The Jays will kick off the next campaign with a four-game series in Tampa Bay, near their spring training facility in Dunedin.
The Torontonians will next visit the Houston Astros and New York Yankees for two three-game series, before hosting the Seattle Mariners for their home opener on April 8.
This long stay abroad will allow the work to continue at the Rogers Centre. The team has indicated that the second phase of improvements, which will include three private clubs in the bottom portion, will be ready for this opener.
This meeting will kick off one of two longest nine-game home streaks for the Jays next season.
The Blue Jays had also started the current campaign with 10 meetings abroad before unveiling the first phase of work at his home on April 11.
The Jays will play 46 interleague games. The team will notably host the Colorado Rockies (April 12-14) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (April 26-28). Those two teams haven’t played in Toronto since 2013 and 2016, respectively.
The Jays’ annual trip to Seattle, which is particularly popular with Canadians out west, will take place July 5-7.
