2024 Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV: the pinnacle of electric luxury

Little by little, Mercedes-Benz is improving its range of electric sport utility vehicles (SUVs). Today, the German automaker unveils the cream of the crop when it comes to electric SUVs by presenting the 2024 Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV 4Matic. It becomes the first electric vehicle to wear the Maybach badge.

On the sidelines of the launch of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, The Car Guide was able to see up close and take a seat on board the one that sits at the top of the manufacturer’s electric range.

An ostentatious look

As you can see when looking at the photos, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV is nothing short of a discreet vehicle. During the presentation, Mercedes insisted on the quality of the two-tone paint and the fluidity in the transition from one color to another. This is obviously an option.

Note the absence of a radiator grille, even if it has been simulated in such a way as to retain the brand’s identity approach. Compared to the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, this model is entitled to different rims of 21 or 22 inches.

We also notice a phenomenal quantity of Maybach logos on the body as well as in the cabin. This version is also distinguished by its captain’s type seats in the back which recline like those of the business class of an airplane. You can even check the option of a champagne cooler between the two seats.

At the front, we highlight the presence of Mbux Hyperscreen technology and the Busmester 4D stereo system.

Impressive numbers

The 2024 Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV has two electric motors. Combined, they develop 649 horsepower and 701 lb-ft. The manufacturer announces an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV is equipped with a 108.3 kWh battery. According to the WLTP calculation method, the range will be 600 kilometers. According to North American standards, this data will be revised downwards.

It should be noted that the rear wheels are directional up to ten degrees in order to provide a reduced turning radius.
