2023 Mazda CX-50: Here Are the Prices

The new 2023 Mazda CX-50 is an SUV that many people are looking forward to. It only remained to know its prices, but it is now done.

Before going any further, remember that production is taking place in a new plant shared with Toyota in Alabama and that the first units will arrive at Mazda dealerships in May.

More expensive than a CX-5

The company announces a suggested retail price of $37,900 for the base GS-L version. That’s $4,000 more than a comparable 2022 CX-5.

Standard equipment includes 17-inch metallic black alloy wheels, LED headlights, power liftgate, rear spoiler and panoramic sunroof – a first for Mazda. The 10.25-inch multimedia screen, compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, comes with Mazda Connected Services and a seven-inch digital display behind the heated steering wheel. The seats are upholstered in leatherette, with the driver’s seat adjustable 10 ways.

Under the hood, the naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine generates 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque via a six-speed automatic transmission and the i-Activ all-wheel-drive system. The Mi-Drive selector allows you to choose between modes like Sport and Off-road, while the towing capacity amounts to 907 kilograms (2,000 pounds).

Do you want more?

A tick above, the $42,850 CX-50 GT stands out visually by offering 20-inch wheels, adaptive headlights and LED taillights, not to mention black or Terracotta-colored leather seats. Those at the front are ventilated in addition to being heated. Inserts with camel or orange stitching enhance the decor.

Other conveniences are added, such as a Bose audio system with 12 speakers, a navigation system, SiriusXM Traffic Plus and Travel Link services (with a five-year subscription) as well as wireless smartphone charging .

The same engine is included, unless one opts for the $45,350 GT Turbo version. In this case, the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine develops 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque on 93-octane premium gasoline, or 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft on regular 87-octane gasoline. Towing loads up to 1,588 kilograms (3,500 pounds) is possible using the new Tow Mode.

The CX-50 GT Turbo also gets paddle shifters on the steering wheel, larger exhaust outlets and silver accents on the bumpers. Later this year, Mazda will add a Meridian Edition with 18-inch wheels shod with all-terrain tires. There will also be lower body protection, exclusive hood graphics and additional outdoor accessories. Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
