2023 Chevrolet Blazer: Some Tweaks and a Bigger Screen

Due to delays caused by the pandemic, the midterm update of the Chevrolet Blazer has been pushed back to the 2023 model year. Today, the company explains the changes to its midsize SUV.

First, the exterior design is modernized with redesigned headlights, daytime running lights and taillights. The front has also been remodeled, including the grille and the bumper. On the flanks, new rims of 18, 20 and 21 inches are available, as the RS version shows us in the images.

Four body colors are added to the palette: Fountain Blue, Sterling Grey, Copper Bronze and Radiant Red Tinted. The contrasting black roof option remains.

Inside, the evolution is much more modest, but all drivers will appreciate the new 10-inch multimedia screen included as standard, replacing the old eight-inch one. Midnight Blue decor is available in the Blazer RS.

In the United States, the Chevrolet safety assistance system is now included as standard on all versions, but it was already the case in Canada. It is a package of six advanced safety features such as Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Detection and Lane Keep Assist.

Note that nothing changes on the engine side: a 228-hp turbocharged four-cylinder and a 308-hp V6. Each is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is optional with the first but standard with the second.

The 2023 Chevrolet Blazer will go on sale this summer. Pricing is still to be confirmed, but expect slight increases over the outgoing 2022 model, which starts at $37,498.

Also remember that General Motors has promised to launch an electric Blazer for the 2024 model year.
