2022 World Cup Qualifiers | Canada to face the United States in Hamilton

Get ready for another soccer game in the cold.

Canada will host the United States at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton on January 30, in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.

Before and after this game, Canada will play in Honduras on January 27 and February 2.

This will be the first time the Canadian men’s team will play in Hamilton. The Canadians most recently played there in June 2018, losing 3-2 to the Germans.

Earlier this month, Canada defeated Mexico 2-1 in a very wintry setting at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton.

Canada is ranked 40e in the world, while Americans are at 12e rank. On September 5, the two nations played a 1-1 draw in Nashville.

With a 4-0-4 record and 16 points, Canada leads among eight clubs in the CONCACAF qualifying standings. The United States (4-1-3, 15 points), Mexico (4-2-2, 14 points) and Panama (4-2-2, 14 points) follow.

In March, the top 3 will qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The fourth-place team will have one last chance to slip into it, via an international tournament.
