(Paris) Emmanuel Macron would come first in the first round of the presidential election ahead of RN candidate Marine Le Pen, who would outrun Éric Zemmour and new LR candidate Valérie Pécresse, neck and neck, according to a Harris Interactive poll for Challenges Monday.
The head of state not yet officially a candidate for re-election is credited with 23% of the voting intentions (-1 point compared to the previous week), ahead of Marine Le Pen (18%, down 2 points), ahead of Éric Zemmour and Valérie Pécresse (both at 14%), who has progressed by three points in one week, two days after his victory at the LR congress.
On the left, Jean-Luc Mélenchon rose to 11% (+1 point) for the first time since mid-October, while Yannick Jadot fell to 7%, down one point, and Anne Hidalgo stable at 5%. Nicolas Dupont-Aignan would collect 2%.
2nd round: Macron winner
In the second round, Mr. Macron would be narrowly reelected against Mr.me Pécresse: 53/47%. He would also win against Mme Le Pen (55/45%) and against Mr. Zemmour (62/38%).
Voting intentions do not constitute a forecast of the outcome of the ballot.
They give an indication of the balance of power and dynamics on the day of the survey.
Survey conducted online from December 3 to 6 using the quota method, with a sample of 2,613 people representative of the French population aged 18 and over, including 2,129 people registered on the electoral rolls. Margin of error between 1 and 2.3 points.
