In Villegongis (Indre), several tens of thousands of people are expected this weekend of Friday May 19 for the Teknival, a techno music festival which celebrates its 30th anniversary, although the festivities are not authorized by the authorities.

In just a few hours, a meadow in the Indre has been transformed into a giant mass of techno music. A festive gathering of 20,000 people gathered for the 30th anniversary of Teknival. “We know how to organize ourselves in benevolence, without hurting anyone”, says a festival-goer. A gathering nevertheless prohibited by the prefecture and organized without the authorization of the owner of the land.

Gendarmes mobilized to supervise the festivities

It is therefore by surprise that the teknivaliers arrived, Thursday, May 18, in Villegongis (Indre). For the time being, the inhabitants encountered are serene and benevolent. On the spot, an important device is deployed. 240 gendarmes, four checkpoints and dog teams looking for possible narcotics. For now, there is no question of evacuating the revelers, too many. Dozens of rescuers are also requisitioned, because the authorities are expecting up to 40,000 people on site this weekend.
