If in “Married at First Sight”, the “stars” of the show are the newlyweds, the shadow characters also work a lot for the success of the program. Shadow people? All those who make every effort to ensure that the bride and groom say “yes” to each other at the altar. Starting with the sellers of men’s suits and wedding dresses for women. In this last area, Paul and Nathalie Cherqui are in charge.
The couple, owners of three wedding dress shops in the Paris region, have seen their lives literally change since their participation in the show.‘M6. They have been in charge, since 2017, of finding the perfect outfit for future brides. Interviewed by our colleagues from Parisian this Monday, April 24, they discussed the impact that had, and still has today, “Married at First Sight” on their daily life.

Thank you “Married at first sight”
“It is often said that a wedding dress is the garment of a lifetime. In the show, it is even more true since it is what the future husband will see first of a person he does not know. not”, first recalls Nathalie before her companion mentions the manufacturing times. The latter being much shorter than usual: Two months against five in normal times. “It’s the great complexity for us. It’s the total rush but we get there”welcomes Paul.
But this rush is worth it. Indeed, the program brought them “credibility and strong publicity”. “The days after the broadcast, the phone rings more than usual”even underlines Nathalie who adds: “Some customers sometimes come from the other side of France, even from Africa to buy a dress seen on the screen”.
This strong interest can also be seen in the figures. Additional sales can for example reach 50 units per model for prices that vary between 1000 and 8000 euros. Year round, these are between “2000 and 3000” models that have passed, as our colleagues point out. This success will soon allow the Cherqui couple to soon open a fourth intended for “large sizes”.
