Faced with an immigration law that “profoundly attacks the values of the Republic”, the general secretary of the CFDT, Marylise Léon, called on Sunday January 7 in “Political Questions” on France Inter, to “a citizens’ march on January 21”. This “citizens’ march” will be organized in Paris, but also throughout France.
“We’re making a call.”written by “200 personalities” who are union and association leaders, added Marylise Léon. The text will be published Sunday afternoon, “to be able to demonstrate against this law that we have described as ‘loss of fraternity’“.
Marylise Léon makes it clear that this call for a citizens’ march is not organized by the CFDT. “All the signatories are not in the name of their organization. I sign as general secretary of the CFDT, but it is Marylise Léon who is committed and who makes this call.”
On December 22, franceinfo revealed the plan for a large gathering which was being prepared to denounce the immigration law, at the initiative of the CGT. Two dates were brought forward: Sunday January 14 or January 21.
