The day after a day of interprofessional mobilization against the pension reform project, the disturbances linked to the strikes should end on Wednesday February 8, but not at the SNCF. The CGT-Cheminots and SUD-Rail, the company’s two main unions, are also calling for a strike on Wednesday. The company announced on Tuesday that traffic will be “disrupted”.
On the TGV lines, only 2 out of 3 trains will run, up slightly from Tuesday (1 out of 2). The consequences of the strike will be disparate: 1 train out of 2 on the Atlantic axis, 3 out of 5 on the South-East axis and the TGV “province to province”, 2 out of 3 on the North axis and on the offer Ouigo, and a frequency “near-normal” to the east.
Reduced frequency for RER C, D and E
Night Intercity trains will not run and, during the day, their frequency will be reduced by half. Traffic will be normal on the Eurostar, “slightly disturbed” on the Thalys, but the Lyria lines (3 out of 5 trains) and the other international connections (4 out of 5 trains) will be more affected.
At the regional level, the SNCF announces an average of 1 out of 2 TER in circulation, but advises to refer to the forecasts of SNCF Voyageurs for each region. In Ile-de-France, the Transilien lines will be affected in various ways, from normal service on line K to the cancellation of 1 in 2 trains on the N.
The RER is also concerned for its lines managed by SNCF: it announces 1 out of 2 trains for RER C, 2 out of 5 for line D and 2 out of 3 for line E. RER A and B are the responsibility of the RATP and will circulate normally.
