The state will come to the aid of the tourism sector, which has suffered many losses due to the Covid epidemic. A recovery plan that would reach the sum of 1.9 billion euros.

The government is ready to put its hand in its pocket to revive the tourism sector, hit by the crisis linked to Covid-19, which prevented the arrival of millions of foreign tourists in France during the year 2020. The stimulus plan planned by the government would contain an envelope of 1.9 billion euros to give a boost to the tourism sector. 1.3 billion euros come from state loans.

Despite lower figures, France is still the most popular destination for tourists in the world. But it is not the country that generates the most income from tourism. The United States dominate the podium, ahead of Spain and France. With the recovery plan, the French tourism sector hopes to refurbish its aging buildings and innovate in transport, while promoting its image. “France is a real excellence in terms of tourism”, notes Vanguélis Panayotis, president of MKG Consulting. Excellence to be maintained by recruiting qualified personnel, while thousands of jobs are to be filled.
