A cargo of 2.7 tonnes of cocaine was seized Monday at the port of Le Havre, in a container coming from Guadeloupe, France Bleu Normandie learned from a judicial source on Thursday March 21. The National Jurisdiction for the Fight against Organized Crime (Junalco) has taken up “the investigation into the importation of narcotics by an organized gang”specifies the Paris prosecutor’s office.

The port of Le Havre is the main French gateway for cocaine. More than 10 tonnes were seized there in 2022, recalls France Bleu Normandie. On March 7, the Minister of Public Accounts Thomas Cazenave went to Le Havre to announce additional means to deal with cocaine trafficking at the port, notably the arrival of 15 additional customs officers.
