CF Montreal won 2-0 against Charlotte FC on Saturday night in North Carolina. Mihailovic opened the scoring at the very end of the first half. Defender Alistair Johnston then found his scoring touch in the second, his first goal for Montreal.

You know, when we say that everything smiles at Bleu-et-noir these days?

Wilfried Nancy’s squad thus managed to remain undefeated in an eighth consecutive match. It was also a third win in a row, and a sixth during that streak.

Charlotte is an expansion club: the two clubs therefore met on Saturday evening. And as if the two teams wanted to take the time to study each other, the match started quietly. Until CF Montreal starts playing its game and dictating the pace.

Mihailovic confirmed this rise in power at the 45andscoring his sixth goal this season.

You had to see the fabulous gesture of Joaquín Torres in the middle just before to hand over to Romell Quioto on the left. The latter made a fierce run, then crossed towards Djordje in the area. But CF Montreal could not celebrate: Quioto remained lying on the ground, injured in a shoulder, and gave way to Kei Kamara for the second half.

Charlotte obviously wanted to change the situation during this second period. North Carolinians projected much more forward. And forced Montreal goalkeeper Sebastian Breza to make some great saves, including a successful outing at the 59and.

Alistair Johnston was going to win to restore momentum to his team by scoring with a solid strike in the 67and. The Canadian international defender, already well involved offensively this season with five assists, scored his second goal in three seasons in MLS.

Do you want more, positive news related to CF Montreal? The win was also his first ever shutout of the season. As well as a fifth unbeaten game on the road.

Next meeting: Wednesday, in Nashville.

More details will follow.
