19 departments still on snow-ice orange vigilance

After notable snowfall this Friday over a large part of France, the weather will still be cold on Saturday with snow and wind in the south-east, according to Météo-France which issued a vigilance orange snow ice in 19 departments from the south-west to Auvergne, from the center-east and for Corsica. A large part of the other French departments remain on yellow alert.

The accumulations will be to be watched especially on the Ariège side, we are waiting 2 to 5 cm in general, even locally 7 to 15 cm. As the hours pass, the snowfall will fade until Sunday morning. On the Alps, 2 to 5 cm are expected in the plains when on the Massif Central, we will expect 5 to 10 cm from 400 m. To note that the snow accumulations will be quite significant on the Corsican relief around 600 m with 5 to 10 cm expected.

The minimums will remain cold with light frosts on the northern half, even -4/-5 degrees in Auvergne. In the southwest, we will expect between -1 and 3 degrees. In the southeast, 2 to 6 degrees. Highs will not exceed 1 to 5 degrees in the northeast. They will be between 5 and 10 degrees from north to south, up to 9 to 15 degrees on the shores of the Mediterranean.
