The TransAmériques Festival announced Wednesday five dance and theater shows that will be part of the program for its 18e editing. This will take place in Montreal from May 22 to June 5.
On the Quebec side, director Jérémie Niel will sign an adaptation of the mysterious play by filmmaker Pierre Perrault, In the heart of the rosewith six performers, including Sébastien Ricard, Evelyne de la Chenelière, Nahéma Ricci, Émile Schneider… Choreographer Catherine Gaudet (Grand prix de la danse de Montréal in 2022) will offer a major new piece on the Duceppe stage, carried by a cast of 10 star dancers, entitled ODE.
In the international section, the Portuguese director Tiago Rodrigues, also director of the Avignon Festival, stages “a disturbing political fable”, Catarina and the beauty of killing fascists. The FTA will also host, in its North American premiere, Black card named desire, a work by the designer of Martinican origin Rébecca Chaillon. A free outdoor show will be presented three evenings on the Place des Festivals: Multitud, by Uruguayan artist Tamara Cubas.
Tickets for the indoor shows are on sale now; the rest of the programming will be announced on March 19.
