The Interior Ministry announced on Monday, December 20, that 182,000 fake health passes against Covid-19 had been generated since the device was created last June. The previous figure given by Beauvau on Friday showed 110,000 fake health passes in circulation. The Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmanin, had, according to his entourage, last week instructed the directors general of the police and the gendarmerie to step up checks.
This heightened vigilance comes as the government decided to transform, at the beginning of 2022, the health pass into a vaccination pass, in order to convince those who have not yet been vaccinated to receive their injection. As of December 16, 52.4 million French people had received at least one dose and 51.4 million of them were fully vaccinated.
