On Saturday, October 15, a 29-year-old Syrian national was stopped at the wheel of a car, in the street from the station in Annemasse, by police officers from the Field Surveillance Brigade (BST). His rear brake light does not work. A policeman asks him to switch off the ignition but the driver restarts and accelerates while the agent is engaged in the passenger compartment of the car. **The policeman is then dragged only about fifteen meters. **Injured, he escaped with a 7-day ITT. The car of the Syrian national is found empty, rue Albert Curioz in Annemasse.
The next day, Sunday, October 16, BST officers on patrol identified the man in the city center. The latter fled again, on foot, before being caught in the Impasse de la Soierie in Annemasse. He had narcotics on him.
In police custody, the 29-year-old man acknowledges the facts. He explains that he fled and refused control because he is in an irregular situation on French territory. Judged in immediate appearance, this Thursday, October 20, he was sentenced to eighteen months in prison for the aggravated violence and six months in prison for refusing to comply. He also received a five-year ban on staying in Haute Savoie at the end of his sentence. In the meantime, he remains imprisoned in the Bonneville remand center.
