The one who capsized Brigitte Bardot’s heart unfortunately died on July 22, 2004 at the age of 71 from colon cancer. And today, he rests in the family crypt on the property of his parents-in-law in Rayol-Canadel. The jazz guitarist left behind him, two sons Laurent (born in 1964), and Julien (born in 1967) whom he had with the skier Francine Bréaud, married in 1963.

These two children spoke about him in the columns of Here Paris on the occasion of the release of an album paying homage to him. Before he passed away, Sacha Distel experienced some health problems. In addition to this “thyroid cancer in the mid-1970s”, the star had to undergo vocal cord surgery. “For a singer, it was hard”, continued the youngest of his sons. “He had melanoma of the skin, the cure rate of which is only 2%” corn “He did chemo, and got out of it. Then the doctors diagnosed him with colon cancer, too late.”
