Fabrice Eboué, Thomas Ngijol, Blanche Gardin, and Claudia Tagbo. They all have one thing in common. That of having gone through the Jamel Comedy Club before making the whole of France laugh and gaining notoriety. Indeed, in 2006, Jamel Debbouze was inspired by American stand-up and launched his own Comedy club broadcast on Canal +.
After 17 years, the program is still going strong and new comedians are emerging from the show. Moreover, the new ones, just like the old ones, will appear this Wednesday, December 20, 2023 on Canal + In The Jamel Comedy Club celebrates the Olympia on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the famous Parisian hall. An event which means a lot to the companion of Mélissa Theuriau, who took advantage of an interview with Télé-Loisirs to make some revelations about her concept.

Our colleagues, for example, wanted to know if Jamel Debbouze suspected the success that his show would experience when it began in 2006.“Absolutely not”immediately recognizes the 48-year-old comedian before specifying:“People think it’s very generous of me, but I did it a little selfishly”. Indeed, the artist had “sick of [se] find myself alone.” “Me who comes from theatrical improvisation and the troupe. I wanted a troop. Behind the scenes, it’s much warmer, electric, alive. I was very well served from the start with this troop”he justified himself.
Regarding the show at the Olympia, he indicates that he has been working on the project since “a year”and promises great moments: “I don’t want to sound pretentious, but it’s the truth: this year’s vintage is quite exceptional. We really wanted to mark the occasion with them and keep track of their time with us”. Grateful, Jamel Debbouze assures that the actors who emerged in his show are “100 times better than[eux] When [ils ont] begin”. 17 years later, the Jamel Comedy Club seems set to last for a long time to come.
