Already accused by 7 people, Abbé Pierre is the target of 17 new testimonies of sexual violence, this Friday, September 6. Following these new revelations, the Abbé Pierre Foundation announced that it wanted to change its name.
17 new women break their silence and accuse Abbé Pierre of sexual violence on Friday, September 6. They bring to 24 the number of potential victims identified since the beginning of the summer. Throughout the pages, facts of sexual harassment, assault and rape, only against women, are described. “‘I’ (…) had to watch Abbé Pierre masturbate and was forced to perform fellatio. (…) Abbé Pierre also allegedly whipped her or whipped himself in front of her with a belt.”we read in particular.
The actions affect volunteers, employees and even children. A child aged 8 to 9 is said to have suffered several “touching his chest, forced kisses.” In a letter sent in 2005, when he was 93, he responded to a victim. “If anything ever happened to me that could hurt you, I ask you to forgive me,” he wrote. The Abbé Pierre Foundation has announced that it wants to change its name.
