The 16 mayors fear new gatherings and call for “a start to come to your senses”. They also denounce the presence of elected officials at these gatherings banned by the prefecture. On March 25, 3,200 gendarmes and police officers were mobilized in Sainte-Soline in Deux-Sèvres. About 7,000 demonstrators according to the prefecture (30,000 according to the organizers) met to protest against the mega-basin project.
