Upcoming Changes to CIC Pricing Effective January 1, 2025

The latest pricing updates from CIC have been announced, detailing around fifteen pricing adjustments along with some decreases for customers to consider. Here’s a recap of what to expect come January 1.

As part of its annual adjustments, CIC is implementing a series of modest increases that affect various everyday banking services. The monthly account maintenance fee will see a rise from €2.10 to €2.20, marking a 4.76% increment. Meanwhile, the monthly SMS alert fee, utilized for tracking account activities, is increasing by 6.25%, from €1.60 to €1.70. Additionally, the fee for a bank check has risen by €1, now costing €15 — a 7.14% increase.

In a significant change, the cost of instant transfers initiated through an advisor, whether by phone or in-person, will decrease by 16.33%, dropping from €4.90 to €4.10. However, this adjustment is primarily aimed at aligning it with the pricing of the traditional transfer, which itself is increasing by 5.13%, going from €3.90 to €4.10.

This alignment is a requirement of the new European regulation, set to take effect on January 9, 2025, which will prohibit higher charges for instant transfers. Furthermore, starting on this date, instant transfers initiated online or via the app will be free, compared to the previous fee of €1.

As of now, we confirm the launch date for free instant transfers!

Bank Card Pricing Updates

All CIC bank card options are experiencing fee increases, ranging from 0.73% to 3.03%.

The popular Visa Classic card will see a fee rise of 2.17%, from €46 to €47. The Mastercard standard will have the same adjustment. The Visa Premier and Gold Mastercard will increase slightly from €136 to €137, which is a modest rise of 0.73%. This high-end card remains stable in terms of pricing given the additional services it offers.

Conversely, the annual fee for the premium Visa Infinite card is increasing by €10, escalating from €330 to €340. Additionally, forgetting your bank card code will now cost €10 instead of €9.70, marking a 3.09% hike.

Enhanced Service Packages with Increased Fees

The service packages that encompass various banking services, card options, and daily transaction needs are also seeing substantial price adjustments.

The entry-level Contrat Personnel Global package will increase by 6.37%, moving from €12.55 to €13.35 per month.
