15 people arrested Wednesday and Thursday for the looting of an Intermarché store in Evreux

The fifteen people, aged 13 to 48, will appear this Friday in immediate appearance. They are all suspected of having looted the supermarket for more than 45 minutes, for damage estimated at around 300,000 euros.

Fifteen people, aged 13 to 48, were arrested this Wednesday and Thursday, suspected of having participated in the looting of an Intermarché store in Evreux (Eure) during the urban violence following the death of Nahel in June last, France Bleu Normandie learned this Friday from the city’s public prosecutor.

Damage estimated at 300,000 euros

These fifteen people were arrested during the morning of Wednesday and Thursday. Twelve people were arrested in Évreux, in the La Madeleine district, one in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) and one in Caen (Calvados). They are all suspected of having looted, for more than 45 minutes, the Intermarché de La Madeleine in Évreux, on the night of June 30 to July 1. The damage is estimated at around 300,000 euros.

The fifteen people will appear this Friday in immediate appearance, according to France Bleu Normandie. The suspects were presented this Friday morning before the Évreux Public Prosecutor’s Office, with a view to appearing in court in the afternoon.

Furthermore, according to information from franceinfo from a source close to the case, a 27-year-old man is also on trial this Friday in immediate appearance, suspected of having participated in the fire at the Mantes-la-Jolie tax center (Yvelines) , on July 1st. The damage is estimated at more than 750,000 euros. This man was arrested this Thursday morning, after being identified due to the DNA left behind on July 1.
