More financial means, staff, and sorting in the orientation of patients : here are the three main tracks of the 41 recommendations given to Matignon on Thursday by the “flash mission” on emergency services in the hospital, commanded by Emmanuel Macron
The “flash mission” recommends “regulate admissions”either with a “entrance paramedic triage” emergencies, either by “systematic prior medical regulation” by the Samu switchboard. The report even suggests limiting access in places to only “vital emergencies”, especially at nightthis “partial suspension of activity” should allow to “pool the means of several services on a single site”. A big information campaign to encourage patients to call 15 before traveling directly to the emergency room is desired, accompanied by an “upgrading of the workforce” of the medical regulation assistants (ARM) who receive these calls.
“They call and we cover their anxieties”
Regulation is a good way not to paralyze emergencies details Eric-Alban Giroux, director of the Haut Anjou hospital center in Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne, guest of 6-9 de France Bleu Mayenne: “That means that patients call and they get an answer right away. They call and we cover their anxieties. They call and they have a professional on 15 or 116-117 who will provide them with an answer. This should limit open bar access, the freest possible access to our emergency services. To get to know some health professionals, they are rather experienced in the exercise. We have enough regulators in Mayenne. We have forced the line both on liberal medicine and on hospital medicine to assume this regulatory mechanism”.
On their side, public hospitals are demanding this Friday a budget extension of 2 billion euros for the year 2022, in order to compensate for inflation and the increase in the civil servants’ index point of 3.5% announced on Tuesday, indicates the French Hospital Federation (FHF). This amount is needed to cover the deficit.
