Presented to TVA, The red wristbands is an adaptation of the Catalan show Polseres Vermelles. In Quebec, this first season (a second has been announced) was produced by Yan England based on texts by Michel Brouillette and Stéphanie Perreault.

Léanne Désilets, Malick Babib, Noah Parker, Milya Corbeil-Gauvreau, Anthony Therrien, Audrey Roger and Étienne Galloy are the main performers.

Anthony Therrien also won the revelation of the year award for his roles as Félix in The red wristbands and Ricardo in the series six degrees (Radio Canada).

Still in the character category, the Golden Zapette for Villain of the Year goes to Paul Ahmarani for his character Samuel Trevail in All the life (Radio Canada). Ève Garance from the detective series Portrait-robot (TVA) played by Rachel Gratton, is also hailed as the Best Performed Character of the Year.

The Crunchy Moment of the Year, a new category, goes to the awkwardness of Mélanie Maynard in front of Patrick Huard on the show Tower (VAT).

The documentary series Loto-Meno (TOU. TV) by Véronique Cloutier wins the Zapette d’or for Useful Moment of the Year.

If, like many Quebec viewers, you witnessed the crisis of François (Michel Charrette) on the show Happiness (VAT), know that this scene wins the Éclat de rire prize of this 14and gala.

And what about District 31, the favorite show of the 7 p.m. box which will leave the screen forever in a few weeks? The series written by Luc Dionne presented on Radio-Canada takes home the prize for Fictional Dramatic Moment of the Year. The scene in question is of course the violent death of Poupou (Sébastien Delorme) and the announcement made to his comrades.

Remember that all these prizes are awarded following a public vote.

Three Silver Zapettes

Furthermore, the team of It’s just TV (host Anne-Marie Withenshaw and three panel members Nathalie Petrowski, Thérèse Parisien and Alex Perron) presented three silver Zapettes. These were given to:

— Vincent-Guillaume Otis for the perseverance and tenacity of Detective Sergeant Patrick Bissonnette in District 31.

— Marie-Mai for the golden looks that get people talking every Sunday evening at big brother celebrities (Noovo).

— Jason Roy Léveillée for his stunning renditions of The Black Turkey on the variety show Masked singers (VAT).
