Several fuel distributors committed to cost price operations on fuel on Tuesday until the end of the year, franceinfo learned on Tuesday from a government source. In total, 120,000 operations will take place in 4,000 French stations by the end of the year.
Objective: to lower consumer bills
Carrefour and Leclerc have committed to daily cost price operations for fuels until the end of the year, while Casino, Intermarché and Cora will carry out cost price operations at least two weekends per month. These cost-price operations will take place at least one weekend per month at Système U and Auchan.
Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne brought together distributors, refiners and professional federations in Matignon on Tuesday afternoon in order to lower the French bill at the pump.
