A bus crushed a 12-year-old girl on Monday, September 12, in front of Lamothe-Montravel station, near Castillon-la-Bataille in Dordogne, reports France Bleu Périgord. She could not be revived. An investigation for “manslaughter” against the bus driver has been opened by the Bergerac prosecutor’s office.

The bus driver was taken to the gendarmerie to be heard under the free hearing regime. Drug and alcohol tests are negative. The bus was immobilized and placed under seal, the time to take samples for future expertise.

Around 5:30 p.m., around twenty college and schoolchildren return home and wait on the side of the road before crossing. As a 12-year-old girl crosses, a bus passes and mows her down. It passes under the wheels of the bus. She died, according to the gendarmes on the spot.

The emergency services failed to resuscitate her despite a heart massage for three quarters of an hour. The Vélines college bus had just stopped to drop off children at the stop, which is at an intersection. The girl’s older sister witnessed the accident.

A psychological cell was set up in the village hall of the town hall for the schoolchildren present at the time of the accident. They were about twenty, according to the gendarmerie. A cell will be set up at the Olympe de Gouges de Vélines college on Tuesday morning.
