FC Lorient, affected by 12 cases of Covid-19, announced on Wednesday January 5 that it would “discuss a possible postponement” of his meeting against Lille scheduled for Saturday. The Breton club will seize the Covid Commission of the Professional Football League (LFP).

Following antigenic tests carried out on Wednesday morning, under the new health protocol, “two new positive cases for Covid-19 have been identified within the professional group”, indicates the club in a press release.

According to the LFP protocol currently in force, a club can request the postponement of an L1 match if it no longer has a minimum of 20 players on its official list of 30 declared, i.e. from 11 players affected. the same time.

Eliminated in December in the Coupe de France, Lorient has not yet resumed competition in January. The current 19th in Ligue 1, author of a convincing draw (1-1) against Paris SG just before the truce, is expected Saturday in Lille for the 20th day of Ligue 1.
