12 departments in the south-east of France remain on orange alert

The south-east of France has not yet finished with the high heat. The orange vigilance for heat waves is maintained in 12 departments of the south-eastern quarter, this Thursday, July 21. Are concerned, Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Rhône, Isère, Hautes-Alpes, Drôme, Ardèche, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, Vaucluse, Gard and the Bouches-du-Rhone.

This Thursday, if the heat persists in the southeast, Météo France predicts dry weather for the rest of the country. From the English Channel and the north of the Loire to the northern borders and Alsace, the clouds will still be numerous this Thursday morning with light rain near the Belgian borders.

The very high temperatures will only concern the south-eastern quarter. After a still warm night, the highs will reach 31 to 35 degrees from Lyonnais to the northern Alps and the Rhône valley north of Valence, and 36 to 39 degrees around the Mediterranean (off the coast cooled by breezes) until the middle Rhône valley and the lower valleys of the southern Alps.

Throughout the afternoon on Thursday, the clouds will evacuate towards Belgium and despite a sometimes cloudy sky over Brittany, the clearings will be wider and wider. On the rest of the country, apart from the Pyrenees where the sky is cloudier, the day promises to be sunny from morning to evening.
