A hierarchy currently respected. The 32nd finals of the Coupe de France continued on Saturday January 6, almost everywhere in France, without any surprises emerging. After the qualification on penalties of Clermont, the first L1 club to reach the 16th, Friday evening against Metz, Lille also validated their ticket, in style.

A Losc record makes short work of Golden Lion

There was no debate. In front of its supporters, Losc made short work of the Martinique club Golden Lion (12-0), resident of Regional 1. On the lawn of the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, the five divisions difference between the two clubs were felt. For their first outing of the year, the Mastiffs, who ended 2023 with a defeat in L1 against Strasbourg, had fun and wrote a little piece of history by winning the biggest victory in the history of their club.

Authors of seven goals in the first 45 minutes, 12 in total, they were particularly supported by Edon Zhegrova, holder on the right wing of the attack. The Kosovar delivered two assists on the first two Lille goals, before scoring a hat-trick, like Jonathan David.

Three N2 clubs join Feignies-Aulnoy and Racing CF

The National 2 clubs are celebrating at the start of the weekend. Saturday afternoon, Trélissac, Le Puy Foot and Romorantin all qualified. Engaged in the first match of the day, Trélissac made an express comeback at the end of the match to overthrow Fabrègues (4-1). Puy Foot defeated Lyon-La Duchère (2-1) thanks to two goals scored in the first period, and Romorantin enforced the hierarchy by dominating the Guadeloupeans from Regional 1 of CS Le Moule (4-0).

The three teams thus join Feignies-Aulnoye, author for the moment of the great feat of these 32nd after having eliminated Quevilly Rouen Métropole Friday evening (1-0 despite two divisions apart). The northern club, which came up against PSG at this stage of the competition in 2021, will play in the round of 16 for the first time in its history. Fallers of Chambly the same evening (2-1), the Racing Club de France, also resident of N2, are also qualified for the next round.
