At a time when the issue of the end of life and the dependency of the elderly is making headlines, here is the story of Patricia Herrscher. She decided to leave Paris, her job as an interior designer, her home… to take care, in a small village in the Perche, of her father suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

She got him out of the nursing home and they now live under the same roof. After struggling to bring her mind back to the world of logic, she finally decided to enter hers, that of fantasy, poetry… A trip to the land of love between a daughter and her dad .

The “caregivers” who are often deprived

Nothing prepared Patricia to become a “helper”, a full-time job for which there is no real training. And she learned to figure out how best to help him. In this magazine document 1:15 p.m. on Saturday” (Twitter, #1:15 p.m.), signed Vincent Nguyen, Jean-Charles Guichard and Mathieu Parmentier, it reveals his daily life.

This disease affects 3 million French people, sick and close, and Patricia has understood that it is useless and painful to fight against it. Accepting it and living with it, even playing with it, paradoxically makes it possible to delay its effects. She shares her experience because she wants to “help carers”, who are often helpless in such a situation.
