Cathy lost the use of both legs in an accident, but this former sports educator likes a challenge. With her all-terrain wheelchair, she will overcome obstacles encountered in the natural parks she crosses over 1,000 kilometers. Hoping that these hiking trails will eventually be accessible to the disabled…

Cathy is an extraordinary personality. At 53, she set herself a challenge: complete the mythical mountain bike circuit through the Massif Central, from the Morvan to the Mediterranean, more than 1,000 kilometers on paths strewn with pitfalls.

A goal all the more ambitious as Cathy lost the use of her legs at the age of 29 during a car accident. But for this former sports educator, continuing to play sports in the great outdoors is essential…

A sporting and above all human epic

Cathy has found solutions to meet this sporting challenge: an all-terrain wheelchair to swallow the miles and a team of friends who accompany her and help her in the event of a problem. For this document signed Anne-Claire Danel, Yoann Perié, Cedric Corre and Oktay Sengul, the magazine 1:15 p.m. on Saturday” (Twitter, #1:15 p.m.) followed her on this adventure.

And Cathy does not ride just for herself: by noting the obstacles on her route, she works with the natural parks she crosses so that the hiking trails are eventually accessible to wheelchairs. A sporting and above all human epic.
