Wednesday September 19 and the following day, nine high schools, a college and a CFA in the metropolis of Rouen (Seine-Maritime) each received an attack threat by email. They were evacuated. We could read in the email that a man would be “explode with a time bomb for 11:30”. A high school student who was in class on Wednesday morning at the time of the alert testified for France Télévisions: “It sure felt weird. The bell rang, so I went downstairs to go to the canteen with my friend.”
An open investigation
“We noticed that a lot of people were leaving the school, until we saw a few teachers motioning for us to leave and telling us: ‘Evacuate!’”, continues this student from the M.Sembat high school in Sotteville-lès-Rouen (Seine-Maritime). A security search to remove doubts was carried out in each of the establishments concerned. Investigators from the territorial directorate of the judicial police continue their investigations, as part of an investigation opened by the Rouen public prosecutor. A 17-year-old boy was arrested.
