2,200 people arrested for urban rodeos in 2022

To fight against urban rodeos, there are already two laws dating from August 2018 and January 2022. “We must apply those that exist. For that, we must intensify the police presence on the ground.” Since the beginning of 2022, “2,200 people were arrested for rodeos and 1,800 machines were seized. A record!”, welcomes Gérald Darmanin.

Emmanuel Macron wants to double the presence of police and gendarmes on the ground. Since 2017, “we have already created 10,000 jobs” of police and gendarmes, recalls Gérald Darmanin. He announces that “200 gendarmerie brigades will be created in six years, because crime increases in rural areas. In September, we will launch consultations with rural elected officials and prefects for the creation of the first brigades in early 2023.
