10th season of Love is in the meadow | A less and less homogeneous meadow

Love is in the meadow continues its efforts to diversify its distribution. In January, Noovo’s love reality show will welcome his second gay farmer, his first wife since 2018 and his first Franco-Ontarian.

A season after having formed the darling couple of Alex and David, Love is in the meadow will try to repeat the feat with Luka, dairy producer from Issoudun, in Chaudière-Appalaches. The 24-year-old tractor enthusiast is hoping to find a partner to watch movies on Sunday mornings while eating homemade pancakes.

In his introductory video, Luka describes himself as a positive leader who enjoys country music for “swinging your feet a little.” However, those concerned should expect to drop second from time to time. “In love, I am someone absent when I spread manure in the spring, but when I am there, I am there! », Exclaims the bachelor.

To form his “dream team”, this “colleux” aficionado is looking for a sensitive partner who likes to laugh “with the monuncles and the matantes”.

Is Luka’s presence in the credits of the show a direct result of Alex’s recruitment last year? “Luka would say no,” replies the producer of the popular television show, Martin Métivier, on the phone. “He had never listened to the show. ”

Viewers will certainly compare the two candidates. They will quickly see that they are very different, believes Martin Métivier. “Alex loved cooking,” recalls the producer. Luka is not like that. He is younger. It’s another dynamic. ”

“I don’t want to forage”

The 10e season of Love is in the meadow will also feature an Ontario farmer. His name is Denis and he lives in Casselman, a few minutes drive from St-Bernardin, childhood home of the host, Katherine Levac.

Denis operates an agrotourism farm that welcomes 30,000 people per year. Father of three children, this self-proclaimed bon vivant enjoys skating on the pond, if we can trust the first images he shot for the show. After a year of celibacy, he wants to make a long-term commitment. “I’m not like a bee. I don’t want to forage, ”he explains.

While abroad, the adaptations of Love is in the meadow Often recruit candidates from outside, in Quebec, this is a first.

We have always been open. We had already received an application from New Brunswick, but the farmer had withdrawn.

Furthermore, Love is in the meadow will admit his first wife since Kathleen (7e season): Marika, dairy and pork producer. The candidate from Sainte-Eulalie was among the shortlisted candidates with her brother, Jacob, but the latter did not take the final step.

We are talking about a sporty, colorful, simple and “very, very honest” girl who is “not able to lie for five cents”.

Marika hopes to “settle in” with a “family guy” who “will know [l’]undertake ”.

The two other recruited farmers are Marc-Antoine, 31, and Joé, 29. Dairy farmer from Saint-Aimé, in Montérégie, the first describes himself as a “bébelles guy” (boat, Ski-Doo, four-wheelers) who loves to let loose with friends. Of the “old-fashioned” type (he’s the one who pays at the restaurant), Marc-Antoine is looking for a natural girl, but who likes to “sprinkle up a bit”. “During the week, sometimes, I can be a nasty rag, but on the weekends, I like it to look good,” he says.

All doubly vaccinated

The shootings of Love is in the meadow started in a heatwave in August. Since each participant was fully vaccinated, bubbles were created to allow reconciliations early in the adventure, unlike last year. With the borders reopened, the final trip was to Mexico in November.

With 26 babies, Love is in the meadow remains the most fertile reality TV show in Quebec. Double occupation will (very slightly) reduce the gap in 2022, since Carl and Andréanne fromOD with us are expecting their first child. Claudie and Mathieu d ‘OD South Africa are engaged, and Noémie and Vincent (OD with us) resist, just like some nationals of the last editions.

In other words, Love is in the meadow is no longer the only show that manages to form lasting couples.

It’s better this way. Finding love is the biggest challenge. No matter who is successful, this is good news.

Note that a reunion and retrospective show of the first 10 seasons will soon be filmed at the Manoir du lac William.

Last winter, the 9e season of Love is in the meadow rallied an average of 673,000 viewers, according to confirmed data from Numéris. On noovo.ca, it generated 1,250,000 views.

The 10e season of Love is in the meadow will be showing on Noovo from Thursday, January 13 at 8 p.m.
