The Bastards let go ! For their 35th anniversary, the 47 personalities present offered a hilarious sketch on the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, during which many artists, supported by Michaël Youn as band leader, did not hesitate to attack the politics of Anne Hidalgo, and the exorbitant prices which were imposed on the French to attend the events. Patrick Fiori initially took over Michael Jackson’s masterful title Heal the Worldin which he shot down the prices: “This summer in Paris, hotels are overpriced / I rented my studio for 14,000 euros / You had to go into debt to buy just one small ticket / More than 1000 euros, for taekwondo / The Olympics, stuck in the metro / It’s going to be a huge mess all summer / We’re going to experience hell, on foot, at the checkout, in the RER, welcome to the Olympics, to the Paris Olympics.”
Jean-Baptiste Maunier, Esteban Ocon, Jérémy Frérot, Soprano and Arnaud Ducret subsequently took over the title YMCA of the Village People, renamed We’re going to enjoy it : “Guys, we suck at the moment, it’s true, guys / Guys, we haven’t won anything for 20 years, it’s true, guys / We miss the coaches, we’re all ready for Paris / We have no chance but we’re going to enjoy it / Not a podium, yes, but we’re going to enjoy it / We’re going to visit everything, shopping, museums / And even be on TV / We have no chance but we’re going to enjoy it.”
Antoine Dupont, the only tricolor chance?
It is then on The Seine by Vanessa Paradis that Santa and Claudio Capéo launched into a second parody: “She smells of vomit, old trash cans, the Seine, the Seine, the Seine / There are velibs, but without the saddle, in the Seine, the Seine, the Seine / If you try, you try, to row in that, you will catch cholera!”
Patrick Bruel and Slimane took the microphone to resume, in their own way, SOS a landowner in distress by Daniel Balavoine: “I’m never going to get to the stadium, I’m stuck in traffic, behind the trucks / But there’s still plenty of work, I can’t even move forward, even though I’m only on a bike“. Finally, as a closing, a collegial discussion follows Emilie’s eyes by Joe Dassin, in the company of rugby player Antoine Dupont whom the Enfoirés were keen to support and praise: “Our only chance of a medal is our Antoine Dupont, he is the great champion at home (…) if he doesn’t blow his chin or even his coccyx“.
