Nicolas Revel, the new boss of the AP-HP for two months, will propose measures to get out of this crisis the 39 hospitals in Ile-de-France managed by public assistance. For this, it launches an internal consultation. It must end at the end of October or beginning of November and must in particular make it possible to resolve the institution’s recruitment problems. The AP-HP has 100,000 agents.

Among the solutions proposed, Nicolas Revel suggests more flexibility on schedules to meet the expectations of young people who prefer to work 12 hours in a row but come less often during the week. The director general of the AP-HP also wishes to offer administrative jobs to former nursing assistants.

This should make it possible to relieve doctors and give collective profit-sharing bonuses. Another avenue mentioned by Nicolas Revel, unlocking additional budget for services that would provide special efforts.

After this internal consultation, the new director of the AP-HP will ask “an institutional framework” that must be “Developed by the end of January 2023”.
