The day before, emotion was strong in front of the little girl’s school, in La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime). “It’s a drama within a drama. We don’t have to live like this. (…) We cannot continue like this“, said the father of an injured girl, even though the driver who caused the accident was an elderly person.
Wednesday morning, a group of 12 children were riding bikes when the 83-year-old woman’s car veered to the left and hit them. Four of them were still hospitalized Thursday evening. In a press release, the mayor (without label) of the city, Jean-François Fountaine, said:collapsed and dismayed” by the news of Margot’s death. The investigation, first opened for blessures involuntary, was reclassified as involuntary homicide.
