A major system coming from the US east coast will leave 10 to 15 centimeters of snow in the Greater Montreal, Lanaudière and Laurentians regions this morning.

“As the temperatures will be close to the freezing point, we can expect to receive heavy and wet snow”, specifies Environment Canada in its weather bulletin.

In the Gatineau region, 5 to 10 cm of snow could fall on Tuesday morning and early afternoon. “Precipitation will likely begin as rain before changing to snow,” it says.

Caution will be required for motorists. Visibility may be reduced during rush hour.

The passage of the flakes will be short-lived. Precipitation is expected to end Wednesday morning in most areas.
