“Wow! A billion streams for Hips Don’t Lie. Thanks to Spotify for the plaque, to Wyclef Jean for the collaboration and to all of you for your incredible support,” the singer wrote on Instagram.

Shakira doesn’t just have reason to be happy these days, though: she will have to be tried for tax evasion in Spain.

The Spanish tax authorities are claiming 14.5 million euros (19.1 million) for the years 2012 and 2014. The Lebanese-Colombian singer refused to sign an agreement last summer with the Spanish authorities, who are claiming eight years of prison and a fine of 24 million euros (32 million).

Shakira denies living more than six months a year in Spain while in a relationship with FC Barcelona soccer player Gerard Pique.

She would then have maintained her tax residence in the Bahamas, considered a tax haven until 2015.
