Hundreds of thousands of tourists are already investing the British capital, in view of the coronation of Charles III, Saturday, May 6. “In particular the campers who have been standing here since the beginning of the week to keep their place to watch the procession”, relates Ambroise Bouleis, live from London for the 20 Hours, Thursday, May 4. London is expecting 1.2 million people on Saturday and one in two Britons say they will attend the event, either live or on TV.
3.5 billion euros in revenue
But the enthronement has a cost: from 60 to 300 million euros according to estimates, expenses mainly to ensure security. “But all of this is going to bring in at least ten times more to the UK economy. According to a study, more than 3.5 billion euros will be spent this weekend in hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops”supports the journalist.
