The Minister of Health is preparing to present a plan to better care and support people suffering from incurable illnesses. A plan of 1.1 billion euros over ten years, supportive care and no longer palliative, this is what Catherine Vautrin is planning.

Better support at the end of life is one of the major objectives announced for the five-year term. In the columns of Le Monde, the Minister of Health Catherine Vautrin announced the government’s plan with two main axes: the creation of additional beds in palliative care units, the objective being to increase from 1,540 to 1,760 beds in France next year, and home hospitalization with an announced increase of 25% in the number of patients concerned.

A project presented to the Council of Ministers on Wednesday

The entire plan has a budget of more than one billion euros over ten years. This project is part of the highly anticipated “end of life” law that the Minister of Health must present this Wednesday, April 10 to the Council of Ministers.
